Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula

This sophisticated, stylish city retains its boutique size and innate friendliness because it is surrounded by the pure natural energies of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.

The peninsula leading to the Cape of Good Hope and the very tip of Africa at Cape Point, has the added benefit of being washed by two great oceans – The Atlantic and The Indian. Both shorelines are dotted with beautiful sandy beaches, perfect for sunbathing and every kind of watersport.

Cape Winelands

Dominated by imposing indigo mountains and fertile valleys, the Cape Wine Routes are immensely popular with locals and visitors alike. Elegant wine estates provide wonderful opportunities to see traditional Cape Dutch manor houses and sample and buy noble vintages and award-winning wines.

Route 62

This is South Africa’s equivalent of America’s famous Route 66, and is equally as spectacular in its distance, scenery and wonderful rural accommodation. This route went into blissful hibernation with the construction of a coastal motorway, and now offers the pleasures of a somewhat slower and calmer mountainous route to the Cape Garden Route.

The Garden Route

The Garden Route offers everything that is impressive in nature and runs along the Western Cape coastline. Indigenous forests are backed by a continuous mountain range, which feeds cool clear water into a string of lakes and rivers heading out to the sea. The Indian Ocean laps broad white beaches, and look hard enough and you may see dolphins surfing the waves and whales very close to shore.

Kruger National Park

This internationally renowned safari destination supports the greatest variety of wildlife on the African continent, and is a fantastic and economical self-drive and self catering safari experience. Alongside Kruger National Park are many privately owned game reserves like Timbavati and Sabi Sand, offering a more exclusive safari or incredible wedding and honeymoon location.

Kruger lies in the hot lowveld (low bushland) of north eastern South Africa. Nearby on the cooler plateau are some of the most scenic wonders of Africa, like the immense gorges of Blyde River Canyon. After a rewarding animal-watching safari, where you are up at dawn to see lions and leopards, consider taking a few days to relax in a tasteful country retreat amongst the wooded hills or coffee or banana plantations.
