Okavango Delta

The Okavango is one of the world’s last remaining pristine inland deltas, formed by the Okavango River fanning out over Kalahari Desert sands. The rise and fall of the river determines how much of the delta is underwater and by far the best way (and sometimes the only way), of getting around the Delta is by mokoro – traditional canoe.

The Okavango Delta supports one of the world’s largest and greatest assemblages of free-roaming elephants and plenty of grazing animals and attendant predators. Central Kalahari Game Reserve

This enormous conservation area of Kalahari Desert is quite extraordinary. Its red sands support a surpising amount of vegetation and animals, and it is the traditional home of the Bushmen. In an effort to retain their ancient survival knowledge and time-honoured customs, some Bushmen act as guides and take you on an incredible journey into their world

Chobe National Park

The Chobe River forms Botswana’s northern border and four countries meet near the point where the Chobe joins the great Zambezi River (Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe). This allows easy access to Victoria Falls and all the safari destinations of these countries.

Chobe National Park and the river itself is jam packed with elephants. They wade in the shallows and even swim across to swampy islands to graze. Riverboats get so close to these and other African animals and birds, that you don’t know in which direction to point you camera. This is where you are almost guaranteed to take the perfect sunset shot with an elephant silhouetted against a giant African setting sun.
