FTTSA
Since 2003, FTTSA has been operating a destination-specific certification programme, based on global principles of Fair Trade in combination with local development imperatives to reduce poverty and inequality.
FTTSA encourages and publicises fair and responsible business practice by South African tourism establishments by awarding qualifying businesses the use of special label as a way of signifying their commitment to the Fair Trade criteria, including; fair wages and working conditions, fair purchasing, fair operations, equitable distribution of benefits and respect for human rights, culture and environment.
At All About Africa Tours & Travels we make use of many FTTSA certified establishments in order to contribute to sustainable tourism, e.g.:

By developing community-oriented tourism routes, all those interested are given the opportunity to get involved in tourism. Communities are made aware of the value of conserving their natural and cultural assets, and authenticity, which are in turn used to attract tourists to the area. The opportunity to create more jobs increases as more tourists visit the area.

1. To respond to community requests regarding the formation of routes by facilitating the route development process
2. To assist in raising the funds necessary to cover the cost of establishing routes
3. To develop and act as custodian of the website on which the routes are loaded
4. To act as a support base for the established routes.

The Green Ticket
The Green Ticket is a non-profit organisation that aims to promote environmental awareness through reforestation and carbon sequestration initiatives. Their scientifically developed carbon calculator enables you to get an idea of the carbon emissions your habits cause.
The Green Ticket plants trees within an area of the Garden Route in the Western Cape, which is regarded as the Southern hemisphere lung of the planet!
They, however, do not just plant trees, but try to create a duplicate of the natural environment by recreating eco-systems.
Besides all of this, The Green Ticket also raises funds for environmental education initiatives. Their educational projects create appreciation and awareness amongst children and adults when learning about the environment through hands on experience
All About Africa Tours & Travels supports The Green Ticket by monetary donations in relation with the offset of their carbon emissions.

TCD Trust
The Tourism Community Development (TCD) Trust has been formed by 4 players in the tourism industry, who, recognizing the tremendous need for help in many disadvantaged areas, have teamed up in a bid to unify the efforts of their individual businesses and maximize their effectiveness in bringing the benefits of tourism to the community at large. They provide access to direct and indirect fundraising efforts for identified projects as well as to educate the broader community about the role that Tourism and Hospitality stakeholders can play in bringing about real change in society.
The TCD Trust, over the years, has been involved in many projects ranging from the support to a soup kitchen that serves children to the collection of clothes and the employment of women from townships.
All About Africa Tours & Travels has donated money in the past in order to support the trust. Also, we support friends of the trust.
